Who am i? federation quiz
Using the web app Poll Everywhere students will have a series of questions that they will need to answer. This can be turned into a bit of a game by keeping count on how many you get right. The questions will be based on key people from the Federation movement and can also include some key events. The clues will include facts that the students will know and also haven't heard before.
Student Instructions:
- Log onto the Who Am I? Federation Quiz on the poll anywhere app
- As we go through the questions talk with your group to decide the correct answer
- We will talk about the answers at the end of each of the questions
Context:
- Key figures and events that led to Australia’s Federation, including British and American influences on Australia’s system of law and government (ACHHK113).
- Use a range of communication forms (oral, graphic, written) and digital technologies (ACHHS125)
BackGround Information:
Teachers will need to know some basic information about the Federation and some of the key dates of certain events such as the Tenterfield Oration, the Australian Federation Convention, the numerous referendums held and the key people involved: Henry Parkes, Edmund Barton, George Reid and John Quick. Teachers will also need to have the correct answers either on hand or know the answers from their personal knowledge.

Assessment as learning: This activity provides students with the opportunity to check their own learning and see in what areas they may need to learn more. It may be that they are having some problems remembering the key people or they aren't able to recall facts about key events

Students can work individually or in pairs to help support each other.
